A routine security check at a residential society turned violent after two men allegedly attempted to enter through the exit gate from the wrong side and were stopped by guards on duty. According to the Apartment Owners Association (AOA), the guards asked the riders to use the designated entry gate, which triggered a heated argument at the spot.
AOA president Arvind Bhardwaj said the security personnel were simply enforcing entry rules meant to ensure residents’ safety. However, tensions escalated when the pillion rider, who appeared to be intoxicated, began abusing the guards verbally.
Attackers Return with Reinforcements
Following the initial confrontation, the two men left the premises but returned about 10–15 minutes later accompanied by another individual. This time, the situation quickly spiralled into violence.
“They came back looking for a fight,” Bhardwaj alleged. During the altercation, one of the assailants reportedly pulled out a sharp-edged weapon and attacked guard Kumar on the head. Another guard, Rahul, also sustained serious head injuries while trying to intervene.
Guards Rushed to Hospital
Association members rushed to the scene after learning about the incident and transported the injured guards to a nearby private hospital in a private vehicle. Both victims received treatment for head injuries, and their condition was reported to be stable.
Residents expressed shock over the attack, noting that security staff often face hostility while performing their duties, especially during late-night hours.
Police Register Case, Hunt for Accused
The AOA subsequently filed a complaint with the police. Authorities have registered a case under provisions related to voluntarily causing hurt and intentional insult under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Station House Officer Amit Kumar Khari confirmed that a special team has been formed to identify and arrest the suspects. Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the society to trace the attackers and determine the sequence of events.

Safety Concerns Rise Among Residents
The incident has reignited concerns about safety and enforcement at gated communities, particularly regarding late-night entry protocols and aggressive behaviour toward security staff. Residents have demanded strict action to prevent such incidents in the future and to ensure better protection for guards on duty.
