NOIDA: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision of bringing investment and developing industrial parks in the state has started showing results. Over a hundred companies have purchased land along the Yamuna Expressway to build factories at the “Toy Park” near Noida. The move is not only going to being a total investment of Rs 410.13 crore but going to give a push to the employment and housing sectors in the nearby area.
According to officials with the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), the toy factories will employ an estimated 6,157 people. It must be noted that country’s biggest airport is coming up at Jewar which is going to accelerate development in the entire Yamuna expressway running from Noida to Agra.
Last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for increasing India’s share of the global toy market. In order to achieve his vision, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had decided to build a “Toy Park” near Noida and 100 acres of land had been earmarked in Sector 33 of the YEIDA area to promote the industry.
The state government invited industrialists to invest in the park, and many major players in the toy industry responded by establishing their own units.
“A total of 134 companies have been allotted land for setting up their factories in 53.51 acres at the Toy Park, and construction of their units is likely to begin soon,” Shailendra Bhatia, Nodal Officer, YEIDA Investment Cell.
Fun Zoo Toys India, Fun Ride Toys LLP, Super Shoes, Ayush Toy Marketing, Sunlord Apparels, Bharat Plastics, Jai Shree Krishna, Ganpati Creations, and RRS Traders are among the major national companies that have purchased land at the park, he said.
Bhatia said the acquisition of land by major toy industry players such as Fun Zoo Toys India and Fun Ride Toys is “highly significant” because it allows them to challenge the monopoly of Chinese toy makers.
“The government’s biggest challenge, however, is that 90 per cent of the 4,000 micro, small, and medium enterprises in the toy manufacturing industry are unorganised. As a result, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken this step to promote the industry “he said.
The “Toy Park” near Noida, according to officials, aims to reduce the cost of manufacturing Indian toys while ensuring quality.
The government is counting on manufacturers to use cutting-edge technology to produce high-quality, more durable, and less expensive toys than Chinese counterparts.
