The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) 2024 results have brought to light yet another story of grit, determination, and quiet brilliance. Meet Aakash Garg, who secured All India Rank 5, becoming the second-highest male topper in the country. Born and raised in Delhi, Aakash’s journey from a B.Tech student to one of India’s top civil service aspirants is nothing short of inspiring.

Balancing Studies with Responsibility

Aakash completed his engineering in Computer Science from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, graduating in 2022 from Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology. What sets him apart is that while preparing for the country’s most prestigious examination, he also helped manage his father’s tourism business in Uttarakhand. Balancing this responsibility with a rigorous UPSC prep schedule shows his exceptional time management and dedication.

A Dream Born in School, Shaped by Perseverance

An alumnus of CRPF Public School, Rohini, Aakash was always a bright student. But the decision to enter the civil services was fueled by his desire to serve the country and make meaningful change. He chose Sociology as his optional subject and spent two years preparing with unwavering focus.

The Numbers Say It All

UPSC 2024 saw over 9.9 lakh candidates apply, and only 1,009 made it to the final recommendation list. Aakash stood tall among them, securing a spot in the top 5 — a feat achieved by only a handful each year.

Modest, Motivated, and Moving Forward

Despite his remarkable success, Aakash remains grounded. His story is a reminder that with consistent effort, clarity of purpose, and support from loved ones, even the most challenging goals can be achieved.

He now looks forward to beginning his journey as an IAS officer, ready to contribute towards shaping the nation’s future.
