India is one step closer to its high-speed rail dream!
Japan has begun trial runs of the Shinkansen bullet trains, marking a key milestone in the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project — India’s first-ever high-speed rail line.

Key Highlights:

India to receive E5 and E3 series Shinkansen trains from Japan

Speed: Up to 320 km/h

Arrival in India: Early 2026

Trains to be tested for Indian weather, dust, and terrain conditions

India to use trial data for developing indigenous E10 series under ‘Make in India’

Construction Progress:

257.4 km of viaducts via Full Span Launching Method (FSLM)

14 river bridges, 7 major steel bridges, and thematic world-class stations

Over 3 lakh noise barriers installed

Modern depots under construction in Gujarat and Maharashtra
