In a landmark step for women’s healthcare, Apollo Hospitals has unveiled Apollo Athenaa, Asia’s first dedicated cancer centre for women. Located in Defence Colony, New Delhi, the centre was inaugurated by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, alongside Dr. Prathap C Reddy, Founder-Chairman of Apollo Hospitals Group, and Preetha Reddy, Executive Vice Chairperson of Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd (AHEL).
Transforming Cancer Care for Women

Preetha Reddy called it “a milestone in transforming women’s cancer care” and emphasised its focus on dignity, privacy, and timely medical interventions.

Cutting-Edge Facilities and Healing Design
The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology for diagnosis and treatment of cancers affecting women. Incorporating principles of neuroaesthetics, the centre’s calming design focuses on patient comfort, mental well-being, and accelerated recovery. Every element of the façade and interiors has been thoughtfully crafted to promote healing and dignity.
A Milestone in Women’s Health
Speaking at the inauguration, CM Rekha Gupta underlined the urgent need for specialised cancer care for women, applauding Apollo Hospitals for addressing a critical gap in India’s healthcare system.
With Apollo Athenaa, India now has a world-class facility dedicated exclusively to women fighting cancer — setting a benchmark not just for the country but for Asia as a whole.
