When doors kept shutting on him, Kartikey Singh built one of his own. From being rejected by top tech companies to running a thriving digital agency, Singh’s story is proof that failure is often just a redirection to something greater.
Dreams Denied, But Not Defeated
At just 16, Kartikey dreamt of cracking the IIT entrance exams—a dream shared by millions of Indian students. But life had different plans. He didn’t make it. Four years later, at 20, he faced another setback when every company he applied to—including tech giants like Microsoft and Autodesk—turned him down.
Watching his friends celebrate job offers while he refreshed job portals endlessly, Kartikey recalls feeling “invisible” and “stuck.” It was during one of those lonely nights that he stumbled upon a freelancer’s Instagram profile—a discovery that would completely change his path.
The Moment That Changed Everything
Driven by curiosity, Kartikey reached out to the freelancer. That conversation introduced him to the world of freelancing and digital entrepreneurship. “He told me how clients come from content, how consistency matters, and that anyone can build something from scratch,” Kartikey shared in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
Inspired, he decided to give it a shot. He started posting content daily, talking about app development and Flutter—his area of expertise. For weeks, there was no response—no likes, no DMs, no followers. Yet, he continued.
Then, one night, his phone pinged. A message read: “Can you help me build this?”
It was his first client. The project paid Rs3,000, but it felt priceless.

Building From Scratch
That small beginning turned into a snowball. As projects kept coming in, Kartikey started earning steadily, gaining confidence with each success. Within months, he expanded his operations and built a small five-member team under his startup — Flutter Your Way.
Today, the agency earns around ₹6 lakh per month, serving international clients and mentoring young freelancers who once stood where he did.
A Message To Every Dreamer
Kartikey’s story has gone viral on X, garnering over 1.5 lakh views and hundreds of inspiring comments. One user wrote, “Rejection isn’t the end, it’s just redirection.”
Another said, “Proof that consistency beats everything.”
Kartikey ends his post with a message for every dreamer feeling left behind:
“If I can do it from a Tier-3 college with zero connections, you can too.”
His journey is a reminder that in a world obsessed with shortcuts and privilege, persistence remains the most powerful form of talent.
