There was a time when Sikander Singh, a resident of Chaswal village in Punjab, was drowning under debt of more than ₹6 lakh. With no job opportunities and increasing financial pressure, the future looked uncertain.
But Sikander didn’t give up. Instead, he turned to something deeply rooted in India’s rural culture — cow farming.

Today, Sikander runs a 215-cow modern dairy farm, producing 3,000 litres of milk every day and generating revenue worth ₹4 crore annually. He is now counted among Punjab’s most successful dairy entrepreneurs — a transformation built on courage, learning, and smart use of technology.

How the Journey Began
After completing Class 12, Sikander trained with Milkfed in 1999 and later studied modern dairy practices at Punjab Agriculture University. In 2000, he took a loan of ₹6 lakh and started with just a few cows.
The early years were tough — financial pressure, lack of experience, and cattle care challenges. But Sikander stayed persistent and repaid his entire loan within four years.

Technology Turned The Game
Unlike traditional farms, Sikander’s dairy today is fully automated.
He uses:

◆Israeli milking parlor system

◆Automatic milk packing system

◆Hygienic cattle management techniques

Because of automation, only 10 workers manage the entire 215-cow farm.

Smart Selling Strategy

1,500 litres sold directly to consumers at Rs 60/litre

Remaining milk sold to Amul and Verka at Rs 44/litre

Also sells 25 cows every year, earning an extra Rs 20 lakh+

Recognition
Seeing his success, GADVASU University, Ludhiana awarded him the Chief Minister’s Award 2025-26.

Why His Story Matters
Sikander proves that rural entrepreneurship is powerful.
With training, technology, and consistency, villages can become business hubs.

His journey inspires thousands of young Indians looking for self-employment and sustainable income.
