Fear and panic spread across Sector Mu-2 on Wednesday evening after a stray dog attacked a minor, leaving the child seriously injured. The incident has once again exposed the growing threat of stray dogs in residential areas of Greater Noida.
According to residents, the child was walking towards the parking area when a stray dog suddenly emerged from beneath a parked vehicle and attacked him without warning. Despite attempts to ward it off, the dog bit the child on the leg, causing a deep wound.
Local residents rushed to the spot, managed to drive the dog away, and immediately shifted the injured child to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Child Hospitalised, Condition Stable
Doctors confirmed that the bite injury was severe and required urgent medical attention. The child is currently under observation, and doctors have administered necessary anti-rabies injections and treatment.
Family members said the incident has left the child traumatised and fearful of stepping outside the house.

Residents Allege Repeated Attacks by Stray Dogs
Residents of Sector Mu-2 say this is not an isolated incident. Over the past few months, several cases of stray dogs chasing and attacking children and elderly people have been reported in the area.
Sector General Secretary Sachin Tewatia stated that the stray dog population has increased significantly, creating an atmosphere of fear. “Children and senior citizens are most vulnerable. We have complained multiple times, but no concrete action has been taken,” he said.

Authority Accused of Inaction
Locals have accused the Greater Noida Authority of ignoring repeated complaints. Residents claim that despite written representations and verbal assurances, no effective steps have been taken to control aggressive stray dogs.
They warned that if the issue is not addressed immediately, a bigger tragedy cannot be ruled out.
Demand for Immediate and Permanent Solution
Residents have demanded:
●Immediate capture of aggressive stray dogs
●Regular monitoring of residential sectors
●A permanent animal control and sterilisation plan
●Accountability of officials responsible for public safety
People say ensuring the safety of children and senior citizens must be treated as a top priority.
