A massive artificial intelligence and high-performance computing (HPC) hub is set to be developed off the Yamuna Expressway, marking one of India’s largest technology infrastructure projects.
Spread across 289 acres in Sectors 28 and 8D of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) area, the project will involve an estimated investment of Rs 2.2 lakh crore. Authorities expect initial operations to begin by 2028, with full capacity targeted by 2030.
The Yamuna Authority has issued a Letter of Intent to Hyderabad-based AM Group (AMG), backed by the founders of Greenko Group, to develop the facility.
Designed to Power India’s AI Future
The proposed hub will house a one-gigawatt computing facility capable of supporting around five lakh advanced high-performance chipsets. The infrastructure is designed to handle large AI workloads, cloud computing services, and extensive data processing demands.
Officials say the centre will cater to global hyperscalers, research institutions, enterprises, and India’s sovereign AI initiatives. The project aligns with the state government’s vision, announced earlier at an international forum, to position Uttar Pradesh as a leading AI destination.
Jobs, Investment and Industrial Boost
The AI hub is expected to generate thousands of high-skilled employment opportunities. Beyond direct jobs, the project is likely to stimulate growth in:
●Semiconductor-related services
●Hardware manufacturing
●Advanced cooling technologies
●Software development
●Data centre support ecosystems
Officials believe the development could transform the Yamuna Expressway region into a major technology corridor.

Powered by 24×7 Carbon-Free Energy
A standout feature of the project is its clean energy model. The facility will operate entirely on round-the-clock carbon-free energy sourced from renewable systems such as solar, wind, and pumped storage hydropower.
AMG stated that the infrastructure will align with its carbon-neutral strategy and energy transition platform. Under its AMG AI Labs initiative, the group aims to integrate clean energy supply with AI computing capacity to build a sustainable digital ecosystem.
Strategic Location Advantage
With proximity to the upcoming Noida International Airport and growing industrial infrastructure in the YEIDA region, the AI hub is expected to attract global technology firms and foreign investments.
If executed as planned, the project could place the Yamuna Expressway belt among India’s most significant AI and data infrastructure zones.
