Series of Suicide Incidents Reported Across Noida, Police Investigating

A series of tragic incidents linked to mental stress have been reported from Noida, where two individuals died by suicide and three others attempted self-harm in separate cases across different areas of the city.
According to police officials, the incidents occurred in multiple police station jurisdictions, highlighting growing concerns about mental health challenges among young residents.Authorities have initiated investigations into all the cases and sent the bodies of the deceased for post-mortem examinations.

Young Man Dies by Suicide in Expressway Police Station Area
The first incident was reported from the jurisdiction of the Noida Expressway Police Station.Station in-charge Amit Khari said that Aditya Raj, 23, originally from Jamshedpur in Jharkhand, had been living in Wazidpur village in Noida.According to police, the young man allegedly died by suicide after hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his residence late at night.After receiving information about the incident, police reached the spot and took the body into custody before sending it for post-mortem.Officials said preliminary investigation indicates that the deceased was suffering from mental stress.

Another Suicide Reported in Sector 113 Area
A second suicide case was reported in the jurisdiction of the Sector 113 Police Station Noida.Police officials said Anita Sarkar, 22, a resident of Sorkha village, allegedly died by suicide after hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her home.After receiving the information, police immediately reached the location and began investigation procedures.The body was later sent for post-mortem examination as part of standard legal procedures.Officials said mental stress is believed to be the primary factor behind the incident.

Teenager Consumes Poison in Sector 49 Area
Another disturbing case emerged in the jurisdiction of the Sector 49 Police Station Noida.Station in-charge Sunil Kumar Bhardwaj said that Alisha Khatun, 19, a resident of Hoshiarpur village, consumed a poisonous substance at her home.Family members rushed her to the District Hospital in Noida, where doctors began emergency treatment.However, due to her critical condition, doctors later referred her to Safdarjung Hospital for advanced medical care.Police said investigations are underway to determine the circumstances behind the incident.

Another Suicide Attempt in Phase-2 Area
A fourth case was reported in the jurisdiction of the Phase 2 Police Station Noida.Police officials said Devendra, 36, a resident of Nagla Charan Das village, allegedly consumed poison due to mental stress.
He was initially admitted to the Noida District Hospital, but doctors later referred him to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi after his condition deteriorated.Police said the man is currently receiving treatment.

Growing Concern Over Mental Health Issues
The series of incidents has once again raised concerns about mental health stress among young people and working adults in rapidly growing urban areas like Noida.Experts say rising work pressure, financial stress, personal challenges and lack of access to mental health support often contribute to such crises.Mental health professionals emphasise that early support, counselling and awareness can play a crucial role in preventing such tragedies.Authorities have urged families and communities to remain attentive to signs of emotional distress and encourage individuals to seek professional help when needed.

Police Continue Investigation
Police officials confirmed that investigations are underway in all the reported cases.Authorities are also speaking to family members and acquaintances to understand the factors that may have contributed to the incidents.Officials reiterated that mental health awareness and timely intervention are essential to preventing such tragedies.
