BENGALURU: Even though many of us lost means of livelihood when the pandemic raged, here is an incredible story of a woman who chose to rise from the ashes.
Nandini, an Uber cab driver in Bengaluru, wanted to be an entrepreneur, but like Covid impacted everyone, it also hit her hard. She started a food truck a few years ago with all her savings. But then everything ended after the Covid-19 pandemic struck.
Nandini lost all the money she had invested. But, instead of breaking down, she gathered all her strength and started driving Uber. Interestingly, she is driving with her daughter by her side.
The revelation was made after the CEO of a Bengaluru-based cyber security company shared his experience with Nandini on LinkedIn.
Sharing a selfie with Nandini, Rahul Sasi wrote, “Last night after the ride started, I noticed a kid sleeping in the front seat. I could not resist asking – Mam, is that your daughter? She replied – Yes, sir, my daughter and she is on vacation now; hence I am working and babysitting together.”
“She works 12 hours a day and tells me she doesn’t mind working more if she has to. She wanted to save money and rebuild everything she had lost,” Rahul Sasi wrote in his LinkedIn post.
Rahul took the selfie so that he could share her inspiring story, as many people get disheartened after a failure. Rahul told her that she was a fighter and should continue till she wins.
The post created a rage on LinkedIn and many of Nandini’s friends identified her and posted messages to help her financially in building her business. Many random users also offered her to start a new business.
Meanwhile, Rahul Sasi on his LinkedIn updated that Uber country head Prabhjeet Singh has reached out to him and has offered support and appreciation to her.
