More than 1.5 lakh vehicles registered in Noida and Greater Noida could be barred from entering the national capital starting November 1, following directives to curb worsening winter air pollution. The restriction, which will remain in place until January 31, applies to non-Delhi registered vehicles that do not meet BS-VI emission standards. Gautam Buddha Nagar Assistant Regional Transport Officer for Administration Nand Kumar has issued directives instructing daily commuters, office-goers, and business operators to verify their vehicle emission categories before travelling. Under Commission for Air Quality Management guidelines and the Delhi government notification, non-BS-VI two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and commercial taxis from outside Delhi will face a strict entry prohibition throughout the three-month period.

Three New AQI Monitoring Stations Begin Operations as Pollution Rises

The announcement comes as Noida records deteriorating air quality, with the citywide Air Quality Index standing at 246 on Wednesday, placing the city in the orange category. To step up surveillance, the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board has activated three new AQI monitoring stations following a week-long trial. While digital display boards are yet to be installed, all other monitoring equipment is operational. The station at Government Degree College in Sector 39 logged an AQI of 229 by 5 pm on Wednesday. Stations at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park in Sector 150 and Maharishi Ashram in Sector 110 each recorded an AQI of 267. Weather officials have forecast light rain and winds reaching 40 km/h for Thursday, which may lower daytime and nighttime temperatures.

Vehicles can then head toward Jagat Farm via the LG roundabout. Parking arrangements for attendees have been designated at the Bada roundabout. Loop India is South Asia’s leading industry exhibition covering labels, package printing, flexography, and digital printing technologies, and is currently staging its 10th edition.
