Errol Musk’s Inaugural Visit to India Highlights Green Technology Collaboration and Cultural Engagement

Errol Musk, the 78-year-old engineer and father of Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, is in India on a five-day visit aimed at deepening bilateral conversations around green technology, infrastructure, and cultural diplomacy. It is his first-ever trip to the country—a visit that is both symbolic and strategic, arriving at a moment when India’s renewable energy ambitions are capturing global attention.

Musk’s visit follows his appointment to the Global Advisory Board of Servotech Power Systems, an Indian firm at the forefront of EV charging and solar energy innovation. The company hopes to leverage Musk’s global experience and insights as India accelerates its transition to cleaner mobility and sustainable energy solutions.

A Strategic Advisory Role with Indian EV Pioneer

Musk’s formal association with Servotech marks a notable alignment of interests. The company, listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), has been central to India’s push to localize electric vehicle infrastructure manufacturing. His presence is expected to add strategic weight to Servotech’s operations and serve as a catalyst for international partnerships.

He is scheduled to visit the company’s production facility in Sonipat, Haryana, where EV chargers and solar modules are developed. The tour aligns with India’s “Make in India” campaign, aimed at boosting domestic manufacturing capacity in emerging tech sectors.

“I am impressed by the scope and momentum of India’s clean energy movement. There’s a great deal of potential here,” Musk said in a statement released by Servotech.

Technology Meets Tradition: Ayodhya on the Itinerary

In addition to his industry-focused engagements, Musk will visit Ayodhya’s Ram Janmabhoomi Temple on June 4. The visit, described by Musk as a personal and spiritual milestone, reflects a larger trend of global figures engaging with India’s cultural heritage while forging economic relationships.

On June 5, to mark World Environment Day, Musk will lead a tree plantation drive in collaboration with Servotech. The initiative is expected to attract attention from local sustainability advocates and government officials and symbolizes a shared global commitment to environmental stewardship.

A Message for Elon Musk—and Tesla’s Opportunity

In a recent interview, Errol Musk expressed surprise that his son has not yet visited India. “If he doesn’t come soon, he’s making a big mistake,” he remarked, adding that India’s scale, ambition, and openness to innovation make it an indispensable player in the global clean tech movement.

Though Elon Musk has hinted at Tesla’s future in India, including manufacturing facilities and Gigafactories, the plans remain tentative. Errol Musk’s visit may serve as both an endorsement and a nudge—an informal yet high-profile push to bring Tesla closer to Indian soil.

A Broader Message of Collaboration

Errol Musk’s presence in India signifies more than a ceremonial role. It represents a broader confluence of innovation, diplomacy, and sustainability—one in which global thought leaders find common ground with India’s fast-evolving technology and climate agenda.

Observers suggest that his visit may inspire greater investor confidence and hasten high-level engagement between Indian agencies and global clean-tech pioneers. For a country poised to become a global EV and solar manufacturing hub, Musk’s arrival is not just symbolic—it’s strategic.
