As the sacred Kanwar Yatra 2025 gears up to begin from July 11, authorities across Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad have issued comprehensive traffic advisories. With lakhs of Shiva devotees set to carry Gangajal from Haridwar on foot, major roads will experience diversions and restrictions from July 11 to July 24.
Not only is vehicular movement restricted, but local shopkeepers in Uttar Pradesh have also been instructed to display shop names clearly, and meat and alcohol sales are prohibited along the yatra route.
Noida Traffic Diversions
Goods vehicles from Chilla Red Light to Ghaziabad/Hapur must take the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.
Traffic from DND, Okhla Barrage, Badarpur Border diverted to Noida-Greater Noida Expressway.
Trucks from NIB, Model Town, Tajpur, and MP-01 road will be redirected to EPE.
Greater Noida Changes
Vehicles from Aligarh, Bulandshahr via NH-91 must now switch to EPE.
Diversions via Sirsa Roundabout for traffic from Pari Chowk & Kasna to Delhi.
Chilla to Pakshi Vihar Gate closed to all vehicles.
Ghaziabad Diversions & Entry Bans
Trucks rerouted to NH-9 via UP Gate-Dasna-EPE.
Strict entry bans at Loni, Tulsi Niketan, Anand Vihar Borders.
Vehicles to Haridwar must use NH-09 to Dasna, then EPE.
No truck entry in Indirapuram via NH-09.
Delhi-Meerut Expressway (Kashi Toll to UP Gate) closed till July 23.
Delhi Impact & Kanwariya Movement
Delays expected on: Nangloi-Najafgarh Road, Rohtak Road, Peeragarhi, Janakpuri, Ring Roads.
Entry points for Kanwariyas: Ghazipur, Kalindi Kunj, Apsara, Loni Borders.
Exit points: Tikri, Rajokri, Badarpur, Singhu Borders.
Large camps to be set up along routes causing congestion.
Public Advisory
Commuters are advised to plan alternate routes, avoid restricted areas, and stay updated via real-time traffic alerts. Emergency and essential service vehicles will be permitted with prior clearance.
