When life threw endless challenges his way, Sandeep Choudhry didn’t bow down — he rose stronger. The story of this young man from Punjab is a shining example of resilience, hard work, and unshakable determination. Without attending college in the traditional sense or taking any coaching, he not only cleared 12 government exams but also achieved the impossible — cracking UPSC in his very first attempt to become an IPS officer.
A Childhood Marked by Loss, a Future Built on Courage
In 2004, when Sandeep was just in Class 12, tragedy struck — his father passed away due to a cardiac arrest. Six days later, still grieving, Sandeep appeared for his board exams. While most would have given up, he chose to fight on. That decision defined the rest of his life.
He pursued his education through IGNOU’s open learning program, completing his BA and MA, all while supporting his family and teaching children to earn a living. “It was difficult, but quitting was never an option,” Sandeep once shared in an interview.

No Coaching, No College — Only Consistency
Unlike most UPSC aspirants who rely on years of coaching and notes, Sandeep relied solely on self-study, discipline, and clear strategy. Step by step, he cleared 12 competitive exams, from banking to SSC, before cracking the UPSC Civil Services Examination in his first attempt — a feat few can even dream of.
His turning point came during his stint as Assistant Bank Manager in Guwahati, where he realized his true calling — to serve the nation through the Indian Police Service.
A Lesson for Every Dreamer
Today, IPS Sandeep Choudhry stands as a role model for millions of aspirants who believe success is only for those with resources. His journey proves that determination, not privilege, defines destiny.
From studying in humble conditions to wearing the IPS uniform, his life embodies the spirit of “Never Give Up.”
