Indian golf witnessed a landmark moment on Monday as 21-year-old Pranavi Urs became the first woman ever to lead at any point on the Indian Golf Players League (IGPL). Playing her debut IGPL event, Pranavi stunned the field with a spectacular 6-under 62 at the Par-68 Bombay Presidency Golf Club (BPGC), earning a joint lead with her partner and fellow golfer, Karandeep Kochhar.
What makes the moment even more special? Kochhar — her boyfriend of over two years — fired his own brilliant 62, finishing eagle-par-eagle in style just minutes before Pranavi completed her round. The duo will now tee off together in Round 2, setting up a unique “power couple” battle on the greens.
A Historic Debut
Pranavi, who regularly plays on the Ladies European Tour, delivered one of the strongest rounds of her career. Her card included:

Two separate streaks of three consecutive birdies

“It just made my life easier—hitting fairways, hitting greens. That’s the key on this course,” Pranavi said. “Tomorrow, we compete. We might discuss golf, but on course, it’s game time!”

Fresh off his maiden international win in Egypt, Kochhar displayed sublime finishing form:

Eagle on the 16th (a 40–50 ft putt)
Eagle on the 18th after sticking his second shot to 4–5 feet
“I didn’t have my A-game at the start, but I hung in. The finish just turned hot,” Kochhar said.
