As the national capital gears up for the 77th Republic Day, security agencies in Delhi have stepped up vigilance across the city. In a visible show of preparedness, wanted posters of fugitive terrorists have been put up at major metro stations, crowded marketplaces, and other high-footfall areas to alert the public and strengthen preventive security measures.
The move reflects heightened concerns over potential threats during national celebrations, prompting authorities to intensify surveillance, verification drives, and public awareness initiatives across Delhi.
Focus on High-Profile Terror Operatives
According to security officials, the posters prominently display photographs and details of high-profile terror fugitives believed to pose serious security risks. Among those highlighted is Khalistan Tiger Force chief Arshdeep Singh, also known as Arsh Dala, who is wanted in multiple cases linked to targeted killings and attempts to inflame communal tensions. Intelligence agencies believe he played a key role in a 2022 murder in Delhi that was allegedly aimed at creating sectarian unrest.
Also featured are Ranjeet Singh Neeta, the head of Khalistan Zindabad Force, accused of involvement in arms smuggling and cross-border militancy, and Paramjeet Singh Pamma, suspected to be part of logistical and financial support networks for extremist activities.
Crackdown on Jihadi Networks
In addition to pro-Khalistan elements, Delhi’s security grid is also focusing on jihadi operatives linked to global terror networks. The posters include Sharjeel Akhtar, believed to be associated with an Islamic State module, and Mohammed Abu Sufyan, who intelligence inputs link to Al Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS).
Officials say Abu Sufyan is suspected to be operating from regions such as Afghanistan or Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, where he is believed to be involved in recruitment and training of cadres for activities targeting India.

City on High Alert Ahead of National Celebrations
Security agencies say the display of fugitive posters is part of a multi-layered security strategy ahead of Republic Day. Alongside this, additional police deployments, intensified checks at transit points, drone surveillance, and intelligence-led monitoring are being carried out across the capital.
Officials emphasised that public cooperation is crucial and urged citizens to immediately inform the police if they spot any suspicious activity or individuals resembling those shown in the posters.
With Republic Day just days away, Delhi remains on high alert, as authorities work to ensure that celebrations take place peacefully and without any disruption.
