A nationwide Bharat Bandh has been called by central trade unions and farmers’ organisations, raising concerns over possible disruptions across several states, including Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR). The strike has been announced in protest against the new labour codes and the proposed India–US trade deal.
The call for bandh has triggered uncertainty among students, parents, employees and commuters, particularly regarding school closures and essential services.

Are Schools Closed in Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad?
As of now, there is no official order announcing the closure of schools or colleges in Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram or Faridabad.
Both government and private educational institutions in Delhi-NCR are expected to function as usual unless local authorities issue specific notifications. Students and parents have been advised to stay in touch with their respective schools for real-time updates.
Similarly, no formal announcements have been made regarding school closures in Maharashtra, Punjab or other major states.

What Services May Be Affected?
Although no blanket shutdown has been declared in Delhi-NCR, certain sectors could witness disruptions depending on participation levels in the strike.
Possible Impact Areas:
Banking and Insurance Services – Some branches may operate with limited staff.
Public Transport – Buses and local transport services may run at reduced frequency.
Government Offices – Attendance may be affected in certain departments.
Markets and Commercial Establishments – Partial closures possible in some areas.
Factories and Industrial Units – Business activity may slow down.
However, emergency services such as hospitals are expected to function normally.

Why Has Bharat Bandh Been Called?
A joint forum of ten central trade unions has supported the strike, demanding stronger labour protections and improved social security measures. Union leaders have stated that the protest aims to highlight concerns regarding labour reforms and broader economic policies.
Authorities are closely monitoring the situation to prevent law-and-order issues.

Advisory for Residents
While no official shutdown has been declared in Delhi-NCR, residents are advised to:
●Confirm school updates directly with institutions
●Plan travel in advance
●Monitor local administration advisories
●Avoid unnecessary travel in case of protests or traffic diversions
For now, life in Delhi-NCR appears to be functioning normally, though sporadic disruptions cannot be ruled out as the day progresses.
