Residents and Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) in Noida have raised serious concerns about garbage accumulation and poor sanitation in Sectors 71 and 51, alleging that cleaning efforts by the Noida Authority have been inadequate.
According to residents, waste has been piling up for weeks, creating unhygienic conditions and attracting stray animals in several parts of the sectors.
Garbage Accumulation in Sector 71
Residents of Shiv Shakti Apartments in Sector 71 said garbage regularly accumulates around the housing society due to irregular cleaning by sanitation workers.
Jagdish Yadav Jagga, president of the society’s RWA, said repeated complaints to the authority have failed to bring lasting results.
“What we see daily is heaps of garbage spreading filth across the area. Sanitation workers and contractors have been told many times, and the RWA has also submitted requests. Yet the area is not cleaned properly,” he alleged.
Waste Dumping Issue in Sector 51
In Sector 51, residents near Kendriya Vihar reported that garbage is being dumped near the sector boundary, especially in a green belt area close to a drain.
Sharad Jain, secretary of the Kendriya Vihar RWA, said the issue has persisted for nearly a year.
“The garbage lies near the sector boundary from the side of Sector 52 Metro Station, opposite a bank. Waste is dumped in the green belt area near the drain, which is creating unhygienic conditions,” he said.
Residents also pointed out that fish and meat shops operating nearby contribute to the garbage accumulation, which could also lead to sewage overflow problems.
Residents Demand Permanent Solution
Karan Anand, another resident, said that although officials occasionally visit the site, the problem remains unresolved.
“It’s not that authorities never come here, but there is no permanent solution,” he said.

Authority Responds
An official from the Noida Authority said sanitation work is carried out regularly in Sector 71, though limited manpower sometimes causes gaps in sweeping operations.
Meanwhile, SP Singh, General Manager (Health) at the Noida Authority, said the issue is being reviewed.
“We are examining the matter and will ensure the problem is resolved by Saturday,” he said.
Residents have urged the authority to improve waste management and ensure regular sanitation services to prevent health risks in the area.
