The new headquarters of the Noida Authority in Noida is expected to be inaugurated next month, with construction work nearly complete.
Located in Sector 96, the ₹390-crore administrative complex is in its final stage of development. Officials said that the building structure has already been completed, while air-conditioning systems are currently being tested and finishing work is underway around the premises.
Workers are also developing the greenbelt area outside the building, preparing the complex for its official opening.
All Departments to Function Under One Roof
Once operational, the new building will bring together all departments of the Noida Authority under one roof, improving administrative efficiency and making it easier for residents to access services.
At present, several departments operate from different sectors across the city. For instance:
The main administrative office operates from Sector 6
The horticulture department functions from Sector 39
Other departments operate from Sector 19 and Sector 20
Officials believe the new headquarters will simplify coordination among departments and reduce inconvenience for residents visiting the authority for official work.
Project Delayed Due to Pandemic and Contractor Issues
Construction of the building began on January 5, 2016, with the initial completion target set for January 2019. However, the project faced multiple delays.
The work slowed down significantly during the COVID-19 pandemic, and later the original contractor failed to complete the project on time.
Authorities terminated the contract and blacklisted the contractor in May 2022, after which fresh tenders were issued. A new contractor was appointed in October 2022 to complete the remaining civil work.
Structural Safety Audit Conducted by IIT Delhi
During the delay period, the authority also ordered a structural safety audit by Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.
In its December 2024 report, IIT Delhi identified certain weaknesses in structural components such as walls, beams, and pillars, and recommended corrective measures.
Officials confirmed that all suggested improvements have since been implemented to strengthen the structure.
Revised Design Reduced Project Cost
Originally, the project was designed with two towers of 18 and 9 floors. However, the plan was later revised to four and eight floors, reducing construction costs.
The redesign brought the overall project cost down from ₹478 crore to ₹390 crore.

Residents Welcome the New Facility
Residents and civic groups have welcomed the project, saying it will make administrative services more accessible.
KK Jain, general secretary of the Federation of Noida Residents Welfare Associations (FONRWA), said the new headquarters will help residents who currently have to visit multiple offices across the city for different services.
The existing administrative office in Sector 6 is relatively small and lacks proper parking facilities, often leading to traffic congestion due to roadside parking.
