According to Dhaniram Yadav, Ram Sanware Verma introduced him to his relative Arun Kumar Verma. The complainant alleges that Arun claimed to be an official of the Union Home Ministry, an employee posted with Bharat Petroleum and the operator of Om Construction Company. On the basis of these claimed credentials and influence, he allegedly assured them that he could arrange a contractual clerk’s job in the Secretariat and secure a house under an urban housing scheme.

However, even after a considerable period, neither the promised jobs were provided nor were the houses arranged, following which the victims began demanding the return of their money. According to the complaint, the accused allegedly initially kept delaying the matter. Later, they allegedly stopped answering phone calls. The complainant further alleged that when he tried to contact them, he was abused and allegedly driven away instead of being repaid.
The complainant has alleged that the accused were operating as a group and allegedly collected large amounts from people by promising to arrange jobs, land and houses. He said that he approached the local police seeking action but, after allegedly receiving no effective response, approached the court.
