Uttar Pradesh is gearing up for one of its most ambitious tourism revamps, with 408 tourist destinations across the state set to undergo major development under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s Tourism Development Participation Scheme. From hidden heritage spots to ancient temples and scenic rural attractions, UP’s tourism map is about to get a massive upgrade.
A Statewide Transformation From Villages to Major Cities
The Tourism Department has directed regional officers to prepare detailed action plans for every selected site. What makes this initiative stand out is its public-driven approach — district magistrates evaluated suggestions from local representatives and communities before finalising the list.
This means each tehsil and assembly constituency will now have at least one modernised tourist destination, ensuring balanced development across the state.
Focus on Infrastructure & Visitor Comfort
To bring these sites on par with national and global standards, UP Tourism will add:
●Tourist information boards
●High-quality roads & improved connectivity
●Drinking water points
●Clean and accessible toilets
●Proper lighting systems
●Shaded rest areas
●Safety upgrades & crowd-friendly pathways
Most of the identified 408 sites have already reached the agreement stage, marking the beginning of a major infrastructural transformation.

Boosting Local Economy With Tourism
According to Tourism Director General Rajesh Kumar, each project will feature a structured action plan backed by continuous monitoring. The aim:
to turn tourism into a major economic engine, creating employment, increasing footfall, and supporting local businesses.
A Vision for a Vibrant, Culturally Rich Uttar Pradesh
Under CM Yogi’s leadership, Uttar Pradesh has been aggressively developing its tourism potential—be it Ayodhya’s Ram Temple, Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, or the revival of several cultural circuits.
This new initiative further strengthens the state’s vision of becoming a top tourism destination, rooted in heritage yet equipped with modern amenities.
With 408 sites now entering transformation mode, UP is not just upgrading infrastructure—it is preparing to welcome the world.
