In a major crackdown on cyber fraud, the Noida Police have busted a fake call centre operating in Sector-63, arresting 13 accused who were allegedly running an organised insurance scam and cheating people across the country.
The operation was carried out jointly by the Cyber Crime Police Station, Gautam Budh Nagar, and Noida Sector-63 Police, following specific intelligence inputs. The accused were found impersonating representatives of reputed insurance companies and luring victims with false promises of policy bonuses, early maturity payouts, and low-premium new insurance plans.
How the Scam Operated
According to police officials, the fraudsters contacted unsuspecting policyholders and claimed that their existing insurance policies were eligible for high bonuses or quick maturity benefits. In many cases, victims were also offered fake insurance policies at discounted premiums.
Once trust was gained, the accused convinced victims to transfer money into multiple bank accounts, after which all communication was abruptly cut off.
During the raid at H-198, Sector-63, police recovered:
Multiple mobile phones
Computers and laptops
Data sheets containing personal details of potential victims
Fake documents and digital equipment used for fraud

DCP Cyber Crime, Gautam Budh Nagar, Shaivya Goyal, confirmed the arrests and said the accused were systematically targeting people whose insurance policies had lapsed or were nearing maturity.
“The gang used sophisticated scripts and fake identities to deceive people. A case has been registered under relevant sections, and further investigation is underway to identify additional victims and financial trails,” the DCP said.

The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has repeatedly warned citizens not to share personal or financial information over phone calls. Officials advise policyholders to verify any insurance-related communication only through official company websites, registered customer care numbers, or IRDAI’s official portal.
Police have urged citizens to remain alert and immediately report suspicious calls to cyber crime helplines.
