In a significant move aimed at resolving one of the most persistent grievances of farmers, the Greater Noida Authority has worked out a comprehensive solution to the long-pending issue of 6 percent plot allotment. Thousands of farmers whose land was acquired years ago have been repeatedly visiting authority offices demanding their due plots. Now, a new plan promises not only faster allotment but also enhanced economic benefits.
The proposal, prepared under the leadership of the Greater Noida Authority’s CEO, aims to end years of uncertainty, protests, and dissatisfaction among farmers by offering a structured and profitable alternative.
A Dedicated Sector for Farmers’ Plot Allotment
Under the new plan, the Authority will develop an entirely new sector exclusively for allotting plots under the farmers’ quota. Unlike the earlier practice of allocating plots within village abadi areas, the proposed sector will be fully planned and developed on the lines of existing residential sectors of Greater Noida.
The sector will include all modern civic amenities such as wide roads, parks, electricity, water supply, drainage, sanitation, and green spaces. Officials say the development standard will be the same as other premium sectors developed by the Authority.
Allotment Based on Acquired Land Size
As per the scheme, farmers will be allotted plots strictly in proportion to the land acquired from them. Those whose land acquisition qualifies for the 6 percent entitlement will receive plots accordingly, eliminating ambiguity and delays in allotment.
Different plot sizes will be created within the sector to accommodate varying land entitlements, ensuring fairness and transparency in the process.

Higher Value, Better Income Opportunities
One of the biggest advantages of this new approach is the increased market value of plots. Plots located in a fully developed sector are expected to command significantly higher prices compared to village abadi plots.
Farmers will have multiple income options:
●They can sell the plots at a better price
●Construct houses and earn rental income
●Use the property as a long-term investment asset
This marks a shift from compensation-based relief to sustainable economic empowerment.
Government Approval Awaited
Officials said the plan will be implemented soon after receiving approval from the state government. Once cleared, the scheme is expected to bring relief to a large number of farmers who have been waiting for years for their rightful allotment.
The Authority believes this initiative will not only resolve farmer dissatisfaction but also strengthen trust between farmers and the administration.
