Unauthorized Colonies in Sadhrana, Sector 89 Face Enforcement Action

Gurgaon’s District Town Planning (DTCP) department has intensified its crackdown on unauthorised colonies and illegal constructions, demolishing multiple foundation-level structures across Sadhrana, Bohra Kalan, Jamalpur and Sector 89 in a coordinated enforcement drive.
The action, carried out on February 11 and 13, targeted damp-proof course (DPC) foundations, boundary walls and internal road networks — a strategic move aimed at halting illegal plotting before permanent structures take shape.

Early-Stage Demolitions to Prevent Illegal Plot Sales
In village Sadhrana, enforcement teams demolished three foundations in one unauthorised colony and 13 in another. Internal earthen roads were also removed to prevent further development and discourage plot marketing.
Officials said acting at the foundation stage is crucial. “Once internal roads and basic structures are laid, illegal colonies quickly attract buyers. Removing access points early disrupts the entire operation,” an official involved in the drive said.
Similar demolition activity was reported in Bohra Kalan and Jamalpur, where over 25 illegal foundations and boundary walls were razed. Police teams from Sector 10A and Bilaspur stations were deployed to maintain order during the operation.

Unauthorized Site Office in Licensed Colony Also Razed
In a separate action, the DTCP team demolished an unauthorised site office inside Wood View Residency in Sector 89 — a licensed colony developed by Orris Pvt Ltd.
Officials stated that the structure violated approved building plans and had been constructed without permission. “Even within licensed colonies, no deviation from sanctioned plans will be tolerated,” an enforcement officer said.
Authorities added that such site offices often become hubs for illegal sales and misleading buyers.

Monitoring Intensified in Developing Sectors
The enforcement wing has stepped up surveillance in revenue estates and fast-developing sectors where unauthorised colonies frequently emerge. Officials have advised prospective buyers to verify project approvals and licences before investing in plots or under-construction projects.
“Action against illegal colonies will continue. Our objective is to curb unplanned development and protect homebuyers from fraudulent land deals,” a senior official said.
The latest demolition drive signals that Gurgaon’s planning authorities are moving aggressively to rein in unauthorised growth and tighten urban regulation.
