In a major enforcement push in Noida, authorities have initiated action against large-scale stamp duty evasion, with offenders now facing penalties of up to four times the original amount. The move targets 155 pending cases, each involving fraud of more than Rs 20 lakh.Following strict directions from the government, the registration department has accelerated proceedings in these long-pending matter, signaling a strong stance against financial irregularities in property transactions.
Cases Pending Across Multiple Courts Now Fast-Tracked
According to officials, these cases have been pending at different administrative levels for years. Currently, 41 cases are pending in the DM court, 65 in the ADM court, and 49 in the AIG court.With renewed focus from authorities, hearings are now being fast-tracked to ensure timely disposal and recovery.
Penalty Up to Four Times the Evaded Amount
Officials have made it clear that those found guilty will not only have to pay the evaded stamp duty but could also face penalties exceeding four times the original amount.
This means that in cases where Rs 20 lakh was evaded, the total penalty could go up to Rs 80 lakh or more, significantly increasing the financial consequences for violators.

Recovery Drive Aims to Boost Revenue and Reduce Court Burden
The registration department plans to recover the evaded stamp duty along with applicable interest and penalties. Officials believe that this enforcement drive will serve a dual purpose — reducing the burden on courts and boosting government revenue.A senior official confirmed that detailed investigations have already been conducted over the past three months, and hearings in these cases will begin soon.
