Rs 52,000 Crore Scam Allegation Rocks Noida: ‘Hidden Files’ Claim Raises Big Questions

A staggering Rs 52,000 crore scam linked to Noida has once again come into focus, with claims that the entire matter remains buried in official files and no concrete action has been taken so far.Reports suggest that this alleged scam was thoroughly investigated by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, and its findings were submitted to the government in December 2021. Despite the scale of the issue, the report has reportedly remained dormant since then.

Alleged Irregularities Between 2005 and 2017
According to the CAG findings, the alleged scam is linked to decisions taken between 2005 and 2017, during which multiple financial irregularities were identified in actions taken by the Noida Authority. The report states that these decisions collectively resulted in a loss of approximately Rs 52,000 crore, making it one of the largest alleged financial irregularities in the region.

Investigation Originated from 2017 Announcement
The probe into the matter reportedly began following a major political announcement. Narendra Modi had stated during the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections that scams in Noida would be investigated through the CAG.After the formation of the government, the responsibility for the investigation was assigned to the CAG, which conducted a detailed inquiry and later submitted its report.

Why Is the Case Still ‘In Files’?
The biggest question remains — why has there been no visible action?
According to reports, the case has remained within government files since 2021, with no decisive steps taken so far. This has raised serious concerns among residents and experts about accountability and transparency in such a large matter.

Senior IAS Officer Named in Allegations
Reports also claim that a senior IAS officer, Sardar Mohinder Singh, who served as CEO of the Noida Authority between 2010 and 2017, has been alleged as a key figure in the matter.

How the Alleged Land Allocation System Worked
The investigation reportedly uncovered a system where:
Developers were allotted land by depositing only 10% of the total amount, while it is alleged that around 25% of the land value was taken in cash.Several major builders, including Amrapali, Supertech, Logix, and 3C, were allocated land worth thousands of crores. The report further claims that due to alleged bribery and irregular practices, many builders did not clear their dues, resulting in significant revenue loss to the authority.

Public Concern: Will There Be Action?
Despite the scale of the alleged scam, the absence of visible action has triggered concern and frustration among people in Noida. The key question being raised is clear —
Will this Rs 52,000 crore case remain buried in files, or will accountability be established?

Bigger Issue: Accountability vs Silence
This issue is not just about a financial irregularity. It raises a larger question about governance and accountability. When findings from the country’s top audit institution remain inactive for years, it moves beyond a procedural delay — it becomes a matter of public trust.
