LUCKNOW: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is leaving no stone unturned to combat the escalating problem of cyber crime in Uttar Pradesh. Following his announcement to open cyber police stations in each of the state’s 75 districts, a high-level meeting was convened in Lucknow on Wednesday to strengthen the cyber defence.
Cyber Police Stations At 75 Districts
Sanjay Prasad, the Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, presided over a meeting at Lok Bhavan where he instructed the Additional Director General of Police Cyber Crime to immediately submit a detailed proposal to the government regarding the opening of cyber police stations in each district of the state and the arrangement of the necessary personnel and equipment.
Cyber Coordination Team
To strengthen cyber security, it was discussed to form a combined cyber coordination team at the state level, which will comprise cyber professionals in addition to the police department.
Cyber Awareness Day
In order to increase public awareness of the need for vigilance and protection against cybercrime, conversations were conducted regarding the celebration of Cyber Awareness Day in various locations and schools.
Adaptation Of 5G
In light of 5G technology, the government has also requested a report from the police department on the measures necessary to address the difficulties of data security at banks, railways, the metro, the power industry, and other significant institutions.
In this regard, IIT Kanpur and other cyber specialists would be consulted for advice and opinions.
Training & Education
In-depth discussions addressing the government’s adoption of cyber security measures took place during the meeting. In addition, the training of law enforcement professionals in cyber security and the establishment of a cyber forensic laboratory was also proposed.
In addition, the current status of the implementation of diploma and other courses at the newly established Forensic Science Institute in the state for the upcoming academic year was examined, and directives were issued to take immediate action in this respect.
