No Lifts, No Water, Poor Construction: Amrapali Society Residents Sit on Protest

Residents of Amrapali Dream Valley-2 society in Greater Noida West have launched an indefinite protest outside the NBCC office, alleging prolonged neglect and failure to provide basic residential facilities. The protest began on January 27, in line with a warning issued by residents during a meeting held a few weeks ago.
Raising slogans and holding placards, residents accused the authorities of handing over the society with incomplete and substandard infrastructure. Protesters said the agitation will continue until their demands are addressed and visible corrective action is taken.

Residents Allege Incomplete Handover and Poor Construction Quality
According to residents, the society was handed over with half-finished facilities, leaving families to manage daily life amid serious safety and convenience issues. Several towers reportedly have non-functional lifts, forcing residents— including elderly people and children — to climb multiple floors using staircases.
Water supply remains irregular, adding to the daily hardship of residents. They further alleged that promised amenities such as the clubhouse and swimming pool have not been developed despite repeated assurances.

Structural Issues Raise Safety Concerns
Residents also raised concerns over poor construction quality, claiming that plaster is falling off at multiple locations within the society. Seepage and dampness inside flats have become common, affecting walls and ceilings and raising fears about long-term structural safety.
“People are living in the towers, but basic services are missing. This is not what we paid for,” one protesting resident said, adding that complaints have been submitted multiple times in the past without any meaningful response.

Warning Issued Earlier, Protest Now Intensified
The protesting residents said they had already warned authorities during earlier meetings that they would resort to a sit-in protest if issues were not resolved. With no visible progress on the ground, they decided to begin the agitation outside the NBCC office.
Residents have clearly stated that the protest will continue indefinitely until their demands are met and a proper timeline is given for the completion of pending works.

Demand for Accountability
The protesters are demanding:
●Restoration and regular operation of lifts
●Assured and uninterrupted water supply
●Completion of promised amenities
●Repairs to poor-quality construction and seepage issues
●Accountability for delayed and defective handover
As of now, there has been no official response from NBCC regarding the protest.
