Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) has tightened its enforcement measures to ensure the quality of packaged drinking water and prevent violations of food safety standards. Under the new directive, newly established packaged drinking water and packaged mineral water manufacturing units in the state will receive a food safety licence or registration only after obtaining certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). Varanasi: The recruitment of 62 employees through outsourcing at the Trauma Centre of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has come under scrutiny after a five-member inquiry committee confirmed violations of recruitment rules. The committee has submitted its report to Professor S.N. Sankhwar, Director of the Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), BHU. Two Maldivian pilots employed by Flydubai have reportedly been arrested in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in connection with an alleged conspiracy to hijack a flight travelling from Dubai to Tel Aviv and crash it. Varanasi. An investigation has been initiated after a complaint alleging that gold has gone missing from the golden spire of the Kashi Vishwanath Temple reached the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). The PMO has recorded the statement of the complainant, advocate Nityanand Rai, over the phone. New Delhi A theft involving expensive cancer treatment injections has been reported at the Delhi State Cancer Institute (DSCI) in Dilshad Garden, Delhi. Four boxes of Nimotuzumab injections stored in a refrigerator in the hospital’s chemotherapy department were found missing. The estimated retail value of the medicines is between ₹9 lakh and ₹10.8 lakh. Following a complaint, local police registered a First Information Report (FIR) against unidentified persons on October 12 and launched an investigation.
