Bengaluru The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday arrested former Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) chairman Shivashankarappa S. Sahukar and commission member BV Geeta in connection with a money-laundering investigation into alleged cash-for-jobs and recruitment irregularities. ED officials detained Sahukar after questioning him at his residence in Dollars Colony, Bengaluru, while Geeta was also taken into custody for questioning from her apartment in the same locality. Washington The US Department of Justice has initiated proceedings to revoke the American citizenship of 40 individuals, including California resident Balvinder Singh of Indian origin, who is accused of using a fraudulent identity to enter the United States, obtain permanent residency and later secure citizenship. According to the Justice Department, the cases involve allegations of fraud, false statements or concealment of material facts during the naturalisation process. Coimbatore An Indian Navy sailor has been arrested for allegedly maintaining contact with a Pakistani woman spy and sharing confidential maritime and defence-related information. According to official sources, elements operating across the border allegedly used a honey-trap through social media to lure the sailor.
